If I could only have one tape to sum up the enjoyment of sex film entertainment, this
would be the choice. Try to combine pretty people with plenty of subtle humor plus some
real belly laughs, put them in a hospital setting as doctors, nurses and patients, add a
sensational music score, then film some exceptionally enthusiastic erotic scenes. What you
have is CANDY STRIPERS, the finest film Bob Chinn has ever made.

The plot centers on three young Candy Stripers (Amber, Cris and Nancy) and their harried
supervisor Sarge, played by Sharon Thorpe. It’s Nancy’s last day and there will be a party
that night, but first they have to get through the day, administering to the various need of
their patients. A very simple premise but perfectly executed.

All that is left is to explore the wide variety and possibilities of pairings for the numerous
scenes that build to the party orgy Chinn’s flair for the erotic and his use of San Francisco
enthusiasts is what makes the picture work. Unfortunately, two scenes have long been cut
from the original for video release. They involve one of the major legal taboos — fist
intercourse. The classic Amber Hunt scene with Rock Steadie is gone and the legendary
double fist insertion by Nancy into Eileen Wells is also out. All that remains is Paul Thomas’
anal scene that follows. They are perhaps the most creative examples ever filmed of a
sexual preference that many people find fascinating and that the law fears and frowns upon.
Even without these scenes, it’s still a hot movie. Most films fall flat on the orgy scene,
but this entire group sequence ranks among the handful of greats, as the prudish Sharon
finally reveals her true spirit. The music by Jon Long Is exceptional and enhances the mood
of the scenes. Ask me to recommend a film that celebrates the joys of sex and this is the
first to come to mind. Silly as it is, CANDY STRIPERS deserves its classic status.
