Dreamland came out with a handful of interesting features during 1984. TALK DIRTY
TO ME PART III was the one most critics raved about, but KINKY BUSINESS is clearly the
far superior film. I have not seen the mainstream film RISKY BUSINESS, so I can’t comment
on this alleged spinoff in that regard, but based solely as a sex film, it is a surprise winner.
One strength is the perfect blend of gorgeous young actresses. But the winning performance
from Tom Byron (the finest young actor in the adult business) as Matt gave proof that he
can handle the lead role in a feature film.
He plays a daydreamer taunted into fantasy sex with older woman Laurie Smith, mother
of unobtainable girl next door Ginger Lynn. When his folks split for an uncle’s funeral, trusted
Matt is given the run of the house. He immediately calls outcast Vince, his older brother
(Jerry Butler) who is a suave pig — even if the two seem incompatible as descriptives, Jerry
is excellent as the ultimate womanizing slob. Jerry immediately arranges Tom’s first blow
job by calling hooker Tanya Lawson.
The arrangement to use the house helps the working girls and provides Tom with all the
trim he can handle. The parade of cupcakes begins, and KINKY BUSINESS is one bevy
of beauty plethora of pulchritude films that delivers erotic sex rather than explicit excuses.
Even in bits, video vixens Crystal Breeze and Cynthia Brooks are bargains. Lois Ayres is
Laura the tutor with a twist and Ginger is great as the girl next door, which is how she is
perceived by fans. Now that a Hollywood sequel has been made, more people have become
conscious of INVADERS FROM MARS and that film has significance here.
