GIRLS ON FIRE (1985)
p – Bill Amerson, d – Jack Remy. Cast: John C. Holmes, Ginger Lynn, Jamie Gillis,
Kimberly Carson, Angel, Raven, Robert Bullock, Cody Nicole, Shanna McCullough,
Misty Dawn, R. Bolla, Harry Reems, Shaun Michelle, Linda Kay, Rudy Kaz, Frank
Hollowell, Sean King and Bill Amerson.

An adult version of SOME LIKE IT HOT, with Jamie Gillis and Robert Bullock as
insurance agents on the lam from a gangster. They hide in epicene R. Bolla’s photo studio,
a haven for gorgeous models. Shades of sex reversal HOW TO BE VERY VERY POPULAR
creep in when the women assist the fellows from the pursuit of bad guy John Holmes, also
in drag. Comedy mix-up mayhem (some works better than other) supplemented with some
interesting sex scenes.

Producer Bill Amerson must be complemented for assembling one of the finest cupcake
casts of the decade. He also has an excellent bit part as the perfect spaghetti eating cretin.
John Holmes has always had fun telling various people a wide assortment of stories, quietly
laughing when they swallow the tales. I laugh at people who claim to know John but don’t
know about Bill Amerson. These people don’t know nothin’ because Bill has been John’s
counselor, best friend, manager and partner since the beginning and has kept a low profile.
I got more truth from John than anyone because Bill was there to see that it was historically
accurate. He used his name on this film, since he usually goes under Bill Williams.

Kimberly Carson steals the show with her award winning Judy Holliday portrayal of the
dumb broad gangster girlfriend. In the studio, the models (Angel, Raven, Ginger, Cody) put
on a lingerie show before clandestinely entertaining the troops. Bullock is with Angel, Jamie,
Raven and Cody play bondage with the monkey bars and the hottest scene in the film
matches the King and his weapon (big gun joke) against tiny Ginger Lynn. R. Bolla shows
he is gay by reputation only by scoring with Shanna McCullough when she comes looking
for Jamie. Her eyes (during the oral phase) show the enthusiasm that places her among
the hottest young actresses. Off camera, she is also one of the classiest.

GIRLS ON FIRE is not a raging Inferno, but it does earn a blazing bonfire rating. Good effort from director
Jack Remy who ranks with Larry Revene as the two best cinematographers around.
