Without passing judgement on ANY viewer’s peculiar tastes, I try to make solid recom
mendations on all kinds of adult cinema. I have only one thing to say about DIXIE RAY. To
ALL of the people who complain that there are not enough films available to combine a
truly superior story and perfect production values with explicit sex — to ALL of you who
seek Hollywood type movies and think most sex films to be silly — to you, I must respond:
if you feel that way, put up or shut up… if this film does not satisfy you, then nothing will.
DIXIE RAY has John Leslie as a 1940s era private eye with a dead body in his office.
Cameron Mitchell (yes, THE Cameron Mitchell from TV and films) plays the hard bitten cop
and Lisa, who has never looked better, is the elusive Dixie Ray. Look at the cast, look at
the director, and you realize the film is filled with true professionals. Originally intended for
an R Rating, the X footage was added later. Granted, on the strictest Hollywood scale, it
is only average, but that means as an adult entry it is superlative. Raincoaters will say it’s
soft on sex, but I disagree. Fans who miss dizzy Hillary Summers are gonna love it. Kelly
Nichols won a special Holliday award for her yelping sex scene. Don’t talk to me about
quality in adult films until you have seen DIXIE RAY, cause they just don’t get much better
production wise. And Cameron is far better here than award winning Aldo Ray was in SWEET
SAVAGE. The first ten minutes are the finest ever filmed for the adult genre.
