TIGRESSES (And Other Maneaters) (1979) 106 Minutes.
w/d – Peter Verlon. Cast: Samantha Fox, Vanessa DelRio, Heather Young, Rikki O’Neal,
Jill Monroe, Denise and Diana Sloan, Eric Edwards, George Payne, Herschel Savage,
Patty Kake, Ron Hudd, Ron Jeremy, Marc Valentine, Joe Roberts and Jack Monroe.
Don’t dismiss this as a routine grinder, because the intensity and energy of the sex
elevates it above the routine level. Plot? No, just the simple pro-female or anti-female
(depending on your definition of feminism) premise that women are kin to tigers in jungles
and as predatory beasts, they can get what they want sexually. If anti-pornography forces
even began to comprehend that this entire industry is truly run by ‘the power of the pussy’
they would leave it alone.

Picture credits will help the folks who are identity freaks, but Lemon Yellow is Heather
Young. Women are tigresses and men are prey, but why not concentrate on the sex and
ignore the significance of silly platitudes. Eric Edwards, Bobby Astyr and Ron Jeremy are
reduced to unseen stunt studs and true pieces of meat, since their meat is all that is shown.
This was Ron Jeremy’s first appearance in an adult film. The hottest scene is the finale,
with Vanessa in a language fooler orgy.

Rain coaters should not feel threatened by the ‘competitive women’ concept, and the 106
minute running time (cut some by the loss of the fister between Heather and Vanessa) is
well suited for sex film fans. Women can con themselves into thinking this grinder (which
claims to be their kind of film) actually is their kind of film. In a strange sort of way, this is
an East Coast version of TAXI GIRLS.
